What is Pegging?
Pegging is a sexual act in which a woman penetrates the anus of a sexual partner with a strap-on dildo, a strap-on dildo, or a vibrator.
Etymology
The word was coined in 2001 through a contest organized by American sex advice columnist Dan Savage in his column "Savage Love" for the Seattle-based underground magazine "The Stranger," after his readers noticed that there was no common name for the practice.
The need for a name, according to Dan Savage, became clear from the large number of letters from readers he received on the issue. These contributors were engaged in the sexual act in question, or were curious about it and wondered, for example, whether engaging in the practice would call into question their perceived sexual orientation.
In the Netherlands, unlike in the United States, the term 'pegging' is not widespread.
