Bondage hooks have been in high demand lately. But what are they, what do they look like, and what can you do with them?

These hooks are also called anal hooks. They generally have a U or J shape. One end is inserted anally or vaginally. At the other end, there's usually a ring to which you can attach rope.

The insertable part often has a small ball at the end. These balls can vary in diameter, and sometimes multiple balls are attached. There are also bondage hooks that are straight. These hooks are usually made of steel or aluminum.

The type of metal doesn't matter for the intended use. Only the weight of the bondage hooks and how heavy you want them is a matter of personal preference.

How do I use a bondage hook?

Bondage hooks are easy to use. Use some lubricant before inserting the hook. Water-based lubricant is preferred, as silicone lubricant will corrode the metal over time.

Before inserting the hook, check that it's not damaged. It would be unpleasant if there are sharp edges or other damage. Make sure the hook is completely clean. And preferably use it with one regular partner because of the risk of STIs. You can also use a condom, of course. This is especially recommended if you're using the hook with multiple partners.

Once the bondage hook is in place, you can tie the rope or whatever you want to use to the hook. You can then gently pull on the rope to secure it securely in place.

Because the bondage hook is made of metal, it can be worn for extended periods. As always, think carefully before using it and how you use it. A bondage hook is not designed for hoisting or hanging someone.

Also, don't apply too much force. So don't pull too hard; remember that the bondage hook is inside someone. And that person isn't as strong as steel.

When using bondage hooks, make sure the wearer can't fall. They're likely completely tied up and have no way to break the fall.

Hygiene is always important. Clean the bondage hook before and after use. Use a toy cleaner or alcohol wipes. If your hook has a removable ball, unscrew it for even better cleaning.

You can also use hot water and soap. Just make sure the hook is dry before storing it. Stainless steel is also susceptible to rust.
