Clitoris or G-spot: what is the difference between the orgasms?
Orgasms: we love talking about them, but at the same time, many people don't actually know what happens during an orgasm. And especially when it comes to the difference between a clitoral orgasm and a G-spot orgasm, there are quite a few misconceptions.
I'm Simone from Happytoys, and I think it's especially important to highlight one thing: there is no right or wrong way to orgasm. Every body is different, and what works fantastically for one person may do absolutely nothing for another.
In fact, some people do not have an orgasm through penetration alone. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
What is an orgasm actually?
An orgasm is a physical reaction to sexual arousal where, among other things, the pelvic floor muscles may contract rhythmically. At the same time, various substances are released that provide a pleasant and relaxed feeling.
Every orgasm is different
An orgasm doesn't have to feel the same every time.
Sometimes it can be very intense, while at other times it might be more subtle. Sometimes you feel it primarily around your genitals, while at other times an orgasm seems to ripple through your whole body.
The duration and intensity can also vary.
And perhaps most importantly: you don't have to see an orgasm as the final goal of sex.
Discovering and enjoying what feels good is just as important.
Clitoral orgasm versus G-spot orgasm
This is where it gets interesting.
We often speak of two different types of orgasms: a clitoral orgasm and a vaginal or G-spot orgasm.
But anatomically speaking, that distinction is a bit more complicated than it seems.
The clitoris is much larger than you think
What you see on the outside is actually only a small part of the clitoris.
The clitoris consists of much more tissue that extends further inward and around the vaginal opening.
That is why it is too simple to say that an orgasm from clitoral stimulation is something completely different from an orgasm through stimulation in the vagina.
The different parts of the clitoral system can indeed be stimulated in different ways.
And the G-spot?
The G-spot is often described as a sensitive area on the front of the vaginal wall.
Not everyone experiences this area in the same way, however. Some people find stimulation of it very pleasant, while others don't experience anything special at all.
And that, too, is perfectly normal.
What does a clitoral orgasm feel like?
With clitoral stimulation, many people experience a clear build-up of tension that eventually culminates in an orgasm.
Discover what works for you
There is no universal technique.
Some people like direct stimulation, while others prefer to stimulate the skin and the surrounding area.
Pace, pressure, and rhythm can also differ enormously.
What is important for many people is consistency. When something feels good, you don't have to keep changing your technique.
Stick with what feels good and give your body time.
A vibrator can help
A vibrator can be a simple way to discover different types of stimulation.
At Happytoys, for example, you will find various clitoral vibrators, air pressure vibrators, and other vibrators for women.
The advantage of a sex toy is that you can very precisely discover which intensity and method of stimulation suits you.
And what about a G-spot orgasm?
According to many descriptions, the G-spot is located on the front of the vaginal wall, a few centimeters from the vaginal opening.
But again: not every body reacts the same way.
Relaxation and arousal are important
When you want to explore G-spot stimulation, it is wise to take your time.
Make sure you are relaxed and aroused, and use plenty of lubricant if necessary.
You can carefully try out different types of stimulation with your fingers or a suitable sex toy.
A G-spot vibrator, for example, often has a curved shape that makes it easier to reach this area.
Don't force it
Does something not feel good? Then stop or try something else.
G-spot stimulation should not be a painful experience. It can sometimes feel different or more intense than clitoral stimulation, but pain is not a goal.
Why does one orgasm feel different from another?
That is actually very logical.
An orgasm is influenced by much more than just the spot where you are being stimulated.
Your brain plays a major role
Arousal, relaxation, trust, mood, and how much you can let go all influence your sexual experience.
That is why the same stimulation can feel amazing one day and much less intense the next.
That doesn't mean there is anything wrong.
Your body is not a machine with a single button that always yields the same result. 😉
You don't have to choose between clitoris and G-spot
A common misconception is that you either have a clitoral or a vaginal orgasm.
In reality, different forms of stimulation can actually complement each other.
Combine what feels good
Some people, for example, enjoy clitoral stimulation during penetration. Others combine different types of stimulation with their hands or a sex toy.
It's not a competition.
It's about what your body finds pleasant.
The best way to discover your own body
My advice is actually very simple: take the pressure off.
You don't necessarily have to have a G-spot orgasm.
You don't have to have multiple orgasms in a row.
You also don't have to be able to tell exactly which type of orgasm you had.
Curiosity is more important than performance
Try out different types of touch and stimulation.
Take your time.
Use lubricant if needed.
And if you use a sex toy, start slowly and discover step-by-step what feels good.
At Happytoys, you will find various toys with which you can experiment with, among other things, clitoral stimulation, G-spot stimulation, and combined stimulation.
You can also discover this together
Sexual discovery doesn't have to be solitary at all, of course.
When you have a partner, it can be really fun to discover what feels good together.
Talk to each other
You don't have to have complicated conversations.
A simple:
"Do you like this?"
or:
"Should I keep doing it like this for a bit?"
can already make a lot clear.
And when something doesn't feel good, you are of course allowed to say so.
Good communication doesn't make sex any less exciting. Often, it makes it more so.
Forget the orgasm as a final goal
This is perhaps my most important piece of advice.
If you are constantly thinking during sex:
"Why haven't I orgasmed yet?"
you often make it more difficult for yourself.
Enjoy the whole journey
Arousal, touch, kissing, tension, laughter, discovery, and experimentation are all part of sexuality.
An orgasm can be a wonderful part of that, but it doesn't have to be the only reason you have sex.
Moreover, everyone has a different body and a different pace.
So no stress and no comparisons.
My advice as Simone from Happytoys
Whether you enjoy clitoral stimulation, G-spot stimulation, a combination of both, or something completely different: your way is the right way.
There is no universal orgasm and no magic technique that works for everyone.
Get to know your body, discover what feels good, and dare to try different things.
And maybe you'll discover a new favorite way of enjoying yourself along the way.
Because at Happytoys, we believe in one thing above all:
Better Happy than Easy. ❤️
Love,
Simone
